The program

Who are WatchDOGS (Dads Of Great Students)?

WATCH D.O.G.S.® is a national initiative founded in 1998 to inspire more positive male role models to show all students by our participation that education is important. The program has been launched on over 8,800+ campuses through collaboration between school administrators and local communities across 49 states in the U.S. and four countries worldwide, representing millions of volunteer shifts by parents, guardians, and community members.

Every campus Program Coordinator and Top D.O.G.S. Team acknowledges and adheres to the Important Program Guidelines, but the volunteer policy on your campus is yours. We do not interfere in any way. WATCH D.O.G.S.® volunteers are present only to serve.

Over the years we have created and refined our toolkit for teams to use to establish and run a successful WATCH D.O.G.S.® program. We want to make sure you have everything you need to run a successful program.

Welcome

Welcome to all Top D.O.G.S. Leads. Take or revisit our training now!

Whether you are looking forward to your first shift or served 100 times before, we hope you know we are all part of the same community of parents and guardians serving the future of America, and we are honored to be on this journey with you. We here at WATCH D.O.G.S.® would like to thank you and give a big Hi-Five for your commitment to your school and your community. Together we can improve outcomes for every child in America.

Message from the president

Jim Walters, President of WATCH D.O.G.S.®

Our goal at WATCH D.O.G.S.® is to have as many volunteers as possible to assist educators and be a positive role model for our future generations. Top D.O.G.S. are integral to the success of each program, serving as a team of leaders maintaining continuity and longevity for the program on a campus.

Our hope is that there is a Top Dog for every grade level at your school and that the parents of students graduating elementary are helping ensure there are programs for their students at middle and high schools. Experts are saying that is where we are most needed these days.
